Caldwell elementary principal Taylor Raney was named director of certification and specialist specifications on Tuesday by the State Department of Training.
Raney replaces Christina Linder, who just lately left the department to accept a position as associate dean of Idaho State University’s School of Schooling. Linder held her State Department place considering that January 2007.
Raney’s 1st day is Dec. 23. His responsibilities incorporate overseeing instructor and administrator certification, Idaho’s teacher effectiveness programs and the Professional Specifications Commission.

Raney has served as the principal at Wilson Elementary in the Caldwell College District since 2008. He is a member of Expert Standards Commission, representing elementary college principals.
“Taylor Raney has a confirmed track record of leadership in the Caldwell School District,” explained Superintendent Tom Luna. “As a member of the Specialist Requirements Commission, he also understands the importance of specialist carry out in the teaching profession and the essential perform the commission does each and every day to help enhance the craft of teaching. Whilst in Caldwell, Raney took on roles as the district testing coordinator and gained leadership knowledge as part of the Caldwell Academy of Leadership. Raney previously worked as a teacher in the Boise College District.
Raney earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho, and master’s degrees in educational leadership and curriculum and instruction from Northwest Nazarene University. He is presently functioning on his Ph.D. in educational administration.
“I am thrilled about this chance to work for all students and teachers in Idaho,” said Raney, who will make $ 75,005 per 12 months in his new place.
Raney and his wife, Meghan, have two daughters.
